Upgrade to OIC3 :Some considerations

During this article, I will share some points that any customers need to take in consideration during the process of upgrade of OIC Gen2 to OIC3.

  1. Basic routing is depracated : It’s recommended to convert your integration to a different pattern and then you can upgrade to OIC3.
  2. Failed instances : All your failed instances in Gen2 need to be redressed either by retry or abort them, before the upgrade to OIC3.
  3. Connectivity agent: In OIC3, the agent must be running in JDK17, Also, for OIC Gen2, you need to upgrade your OIC agent to JDK17 to be eligible for the upgrade.
  4. Identity certificate not transferable : If you have identity certificate in Gen2, Need to be applied to your OIC 3 environment during the post-upgrade.

All the steps associated to resolve each of those points, are availables in the upgrade Oracle documentation.

Last point, development done in OIC 2, Go-Live in OIC3 is not recommended.

An upgrade plan need to be define to start first with the lower environments (Dev, UAT, SIT, etc.) then the Production environment.

Hope that was helpful!
